Description
A client sends a STEP file, and without CAD installed you can only stare, or beg a colleague who models to take a look. Mayo is a free, open-source 3D CAD viewer and converter with an installer of a few dozen MB that opens STEP and IGES with a double-click.
It truly parses solids rather than just drawing them, so you can measure lengths, angles and hole diameters, clip through the model to see inside and explode assemblies to explain the design.
Common formats:Open STEP, IGES, BREP, STL, OBJ, glTF, FBX, DXF and more.
Measurement:Lengths, angles, circles and holes, areas and bounding boxes.
Clip planes:Cut through models with capped sections.
