Description
Following one ongoing series already means keeping a mental note of which episode you are on, whether you grabbed it, and whether that release was worse than the last one. Follow four and it turns into an actual chore.
Sonarr takes the whole loop over. Add a series to the library and it works from the broadcast calendar and goes looking on its own, hands new episodes to your download client, then renames and files them into the right season folder for Plex, Emby or Jellyfin. It also keeps upgrading: grab a 720p release now and it will replace it when a 1080p one appears. Everything runs on your own machine, one Docker container away.
Airing calendar: Every tracked series laid out by date, showing what airs when and what you already have.
Automatic grabbing: Watches Usenet and torrent indexers and pushes new episodes to SABnzbd, qBittorrent and similar clients.
Quality profiles: Define an acceptable quality range per series and let it swap in better releases when they show up.
Renaming and filing: Finished downloads are renamed to your template and sorted into season folders that media servers read cleanly.
Notifications and API: Completions, failures and health checks go to Discord, Telegram or email, and a full REST API is there for your own scripts.
