RegRun Reanimator

RegRun Reanimator

Step by step removal of PUPs and hijacks

Description

Your browser homepage is now some search portal you have never heard of, and the antivirus finishes its scan with "no threats found" — because it is not a virus, just a promo program that rewrote a registry key and a shortcut. RegRun Reanimator exists for exactly what antivirus ignores: one Fix problems button walks eight passes through processes, PUPs, startup entries, search settings, browser hijacks and services, listing what it finds for you to confirm at each stop.

It is not a resident scanner — it sits beside whatever antivirus you already run rather than replacing it. Every entry is annotated with whether it is digitally signed and whether VirusTotal has seen it, with history and file properties one click away, so deciding whether an oddly named process should go no longer means pasting its path into a search engine. Free for personal use; commercial use needs a licence.

Features

Eight guided passes: processes, PUPs, unwanted items, startup programs, search settings, browser hijacks, services and unblocking — each skippable, so you never have to decide where to start.

Signature and VirusTotal flags: results filter by whether Microsoft, Google or Greatis signed them, pushing unsigned items to the top, with a VirusTotal lookup available per entry.

Mark false positives: anything you installed yourself gets flagged once and stops being reported on later scans, so a tool you rely on is not quietly removed.

Startup and service cleanup: lists everything that launches at boot, including scheduled tasks and registry Run keys, with the suspicious ones stoppable in place.

Restore browser settings: homepage, search provider and tampered shortcut arguments are detected and reverted, which usually saves reinstalling the browser.

Unblock disabled tools: when malware has switched off Task Manager, the registry editor or Control Panel, the final step turns them back on.

Exportable log: the whole pass produces a RegRun log you can upload or send to support when the machine still is not right.
