Description
Your team is still on SVN, and every time you have to drop to the command line for svn update and svn commit, then remember which folders you touched but never committed. TortoiseSVN moves all of that into the right-click menu: click a folder to update, commit or read the log, with no extra window to open.
Files and folders get status icon overlays, green for clean and red for modified but uncommitted, so you can see at a glance what changed in the project. It speaks every Subversion access protocol, including the custom svn+XXX:// scheme, so wherever the repository lives you can reach it.
Explorer integration: Update, commit, revert, lock, branch and merge all live in the context menu, there is no separate main window.
Revision graph: Branches and tags are drawn as one graph, so where each revision split off and where it merged back is obvious.
Diff and merge: TortoiseMerge and TortoiseIDiff ship with it, with two-pane and three-pane text comparison, image overlay comparison, and conflict resolution in place.
Commit dialog: Tick the files to commit and write the log message with spell checking.
Statistics: Commit counts by author and by week show who has done the most work on the project.
Project monitor: A tray tool that keeps an eye on several repositories.
