Description
A Mac reads NTFS drives but will not write to them, so a Windows disk is a dead end for copying files. NTFSTool, built on Apple's FSKit and its own NTFS engine, lets the Mac read and write NTFS directly with no kernel extension, no macFUSE, no lowered security settings and no admin password.
It is careful with your data too: if Windows hibernated or Fast Startup is on, writing could corrupt the disk, so NTFSTool mounts such a drive read-only and tells you how to fix it. The open-source edition is MIT-licensed and the app is sandboxed.
All drives in one window: Each volume shows read-write, read-only or not mounted, with capacity, mount point and bus.
Guided setup: Turn on the file system extension once in System Settings; the app walks you through it.
Hibernated-drive protection: Disks left hibernated by Windows mount read-only.
Demo mode: Try every screen without a physical disk.
