Description
What did a given article say on a given day, and which amending act changed it? Official gazettes make you compare page by page. This project lines up national law as one git history where every commit is one law taking effect, so you can query any date with git.
Each country's law is its own repository, mounted as a submodule and interleaved by effective date, so one commit in the parent repo is the state of every country on that day. Laws not yet in force sit on a future branch; main holds only what is in force.
The parent repo is CC0, free to build on. The law text lives in each country repo under its own terms.
Look up by date: Pick an effective date and read the text as it stood.
Word-level provenance: Every passage traces back to the law that wrote it.
Submodule per country: Directories for the 193 UN members and some territories; those without history hold source notes.
In-force only: Not-yet-effective laws stay on the future branch.
