Description
Overleaf's Community Edition lacks Git sync, Dropbox, SSO and track changes, and getting them means buying Pro. If your lab runs its own server, paying for that is hard to justify. Ayakaleaf Pro is the open-source build that adds those features back onto Overleaf CE, deployed with Docker and with all data in your hands.
Its draw is a near-Pro feature set plus an AI assistant and an MCP server: AI can edit files, compile and comment inside a project, and explains and fixes compile errors. Docker images cover ARM and x86_64, under AGPL-3.0.
Sync everywhere:Two-way sync with GitHub, GitLab, Gitea and Dropbox, plus a Git bridge to clone projects with git.
AI assistant:Chat-style editing, compile-error explanations and fixes, and an MCP server so agents can edit, compile and comment.
References:Zotero and Mendeley integration with reference search.
Review and history:Track changes, a comment panel, and full project history with restore and download.
Admin and deployment:Admin panel, LDAP/SAML/OAuth SSO, sandboxed compilation (texlive-full image supported), a template gallery and 18 UI languages.
