Manim

Manim

Python framework for math animations

Description

Videos about proofs, function plots and geometric transforms are painful to make with screen capture and a drawing app, since every change means redoing a step. Manim lets you describe the scene in Python and render it as animation, so changing one parameter re-renders the whole piece. The explanatory style of 3Blue1Brown comes from this tool. The community edition is volunteer maintained under MIT.

Features

Animation as code: create shapes, formulas and axes in Python and chain them with animation objects.

LaTeX formulas: typeset equations as vectors and morph them term by term.

Several outputs: export video or GIF, or preview inside Jupyter.

Community driven: docs, tutorials and examples, with an online try out.
