Description
Banks, websites, login prompts, a verification code every few minutes. You switch to your email or Messages, dig out the six digits, and type them back by hand. Worse, two codes arrive at once and you grab the wrong one.
Copy 2FA is a Mac menu bar app that squeezes all of that into one shortcut. Press ⌃⇧C in any app and it finds the newest code in Apple Mail or Messages, copies it to your clipboard, and tells you where it came from, like "Copied from Harbor Bank · Mail · just now". Any account you have added to Apple Mail works, including Gmail, iCloud, Outlook and Yahoo.
It also has a built-in authenticator: press ⌃⇧A, pass Touch ID, type a few letters and hit Return to get the TOTP or HOTP code for that account, no phone needed. Network access is blocked outright by the macOS sandbox, nothing it reads is saved, and the clipboard clears itself.
One shortcut for any code: ⌃⇧C copies the newest verification code from Mail or Messages, including texted codes from banks, Duo and most websites.
Recent codes: when two codes arrive together and the newest is not the one you need, pick from the last five in the menu bar, each labelled with its source.
A built-in authenticator: ⌃⇧A with Touch ID and a quick search, supporting time-based (TOTP) and counter-based (HOTP) codes.
Bring your accounts over once: imports from Google Authenticator, Apple Passwords, 1Password, Bitwarden, Aegis, 2FAS, andOTP and rsc/2fa, or from a QR code screenshot.
Private by design: no network access, enforced by the macOS sandbox, with secrets encrypted and behind Touch ID.
Free and open source: MIT license, no account, no subscription, no tracking. Needs macOS 14 or later, and there is a Windows preview.
