Description
A Mac and a Windows PC sit side by side and you keep swapping keyboards, the phone buzzes and you have to pick it up, and a clipboard item has to take a detour through a chat app to reach the other computer. TwinDesk smooths all of that out: your computers and phone work like one desk, and a single mouse and keyboard moves straight across devices.
It needs no account and no cloud; devices talk to each other over an encrypted link, on the same Wi-Fi or over a USB cable, and without a shared network it can use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct. Every feature is off by default and is not even loaded until you switch it on. Any mix of Mac, Windows, Linux and Android works, and Mesh mode links all of them at once.
Mouse and keyboard sharing: One mouse and keyboard controls several computers; the cursor slides off one screen edge onto the next.
Second screen: Turn another computer or an Android tablet into an extended display, or view its whole desktop in a window.
Other computer apps in windows: Open apps from another computer as windows on the current one.
Files, clipboard and terminal: Send files, copy on one device and paste on another, with a terminal and audio sharing as well.
Phone integration: Take calls, read and send texts, see notifications and photos on the computer, use the phone camera in a video call, and on Android act as a remote and gamepad.
Many connection types: Same Wi-Fi, USB cable, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct and hotspot links, chosen for the situation.
Free and open source: Licensed GPL-3.0; the apps are not code-signed, so the system asks once on first launch, and macOS users can install through Homebrew.
