Description
Apps, documents, folders and web links end up scattered across the desktop, the Start menu and browser bookmarks, and you dig through them every time while the desktop fills with icons. VeiRun is a portable Windows quick launcher that gathers these entries into one grouped window: unzip and run, about 16 MB of resident memory, no service to install and almost nothing written to the registry.
It is built with Qt 5 and C++17, keeps its data in a local SQLite file, and has no network features or ads. Programs, documents, media, shortcuts, folders, drives, URLs and intranet addresses can be added, even QQ contacts and WeChat mini programs, and groups nest without limit with drag sorting. Relative paths are supported, so the whole folder can ride on a USB drive and work on another PC. It needs the common Microsoft runtime libraries, and the official download is a Lanzou share of about 13 MB.
One click launch for many entry types: executables with arguments and a working directory, documents, media, shortcuts, folders, drives, URLs and intranet addresses can all be added and opened with a double click
Unlimited nested groups: groups nest, entries can be dragged into order and handled in batches, and the context menu offers open, run as administrator and open containing folder
Search and history: type a keyword to find an entry, and the launch history counts how often each one has run so frequent ones come first
Per entry properties: each entry can carry a note, tags, launch arguments and a working directory, and its icon can be replaced with your own
Themes and skins: white, gray, transparent white, transparent black and follow system are built in, skin packages can be imported, and changes apply globally in real time
Hotkeys and panel: a global hotkey brings up the panel, and entries can be shown with keyboard style shortcuts so you can stay off the mouse
Backup and migration: all data stays local and can be backed up, imported and exported, with several data sets to switch between and carry to a new PC
Portable: unzip and run without writing to system folders, and with relative paths it lives on a USB drive
