Ant Download Manager

Ant Download Manager

Download manager with video capture

Description

Saving an online video usually means a downloader, then a converter, then a separate BitTorrent client, three programs each handling one piece. Ant Download Manager, or AntDM, puts them in one window: one click in the browser grabs a file or a streaming video, and it can convert the audio straight to MP3, with magnet links and torrents handled as well.

It recognizes segmented streams such as HLS and MPEG-DASH, merges audio and video when they come separately, and uses FFmpeg underneath. Ordinary files download in multiple threads with pause and resume, plus a queue and a scheduler, so a big batch can run unattended. Browser extensions cover Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera and other major browsers. The installer is about 60 MB and Windows only. There is a 30 day trial, after which it turns into a free edition with some limits, and the full Pro features need a paid license.

Features

Multi-threaded acceleration: a file is split into segments fetched in parallel, and running several jobs at once does not bog down the machine

Video and audio capture: detects video on a web page, opens a download window to pick quality and folder, and can extract the audio and convert it to MP3

Streaming support: recognizes segmented video such as HLS and MPEG-DASH and merges audio and video when they are separate

Magnet links and torrents: built in BitTorrent downloading, just paste a magnet link or open a torrent file

Browser integration: works with Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera and more, and hands off downloads you start in the browser

Queues and scheduling: line up jobs, set priorities or a start time, and shut the PC down automatically when they finish

Sorted saving: files go to different folders by type such as video, music or archives, and each category remembers its path
