Description
Finding a file means trawling a search site, copying a magnet link, pasting it into a downloader, then opening yet another player once it finishes. FrostWire folds those steps into one window: search, download and play all happen inside it.
It is an open-source BitTorrent client with its own search page: type a keyword, it looks across several sources at once, and picking a result starts the download. Music and video you have fetched open right away in the built-in player, with no hunting through folders. Besides Windows, the same project ships for macOS, Linux and Android.
Built-in search: search multiple sources from inside the app instead of finding links on websites first.
BitTorrent downloads: torrent files and magnet links, with several transfers managed side by side.
Built-in player: play downloaded audio and video without leaving the app.
Open source and free: the code is public and there is no paywall.
Cross-platform: desktop builds for Windows, macOS and Linux, plus an Android app.
