Description
Finding out how many Wi-Fi access points and Bluetooth devices are broadcasting around you usually means buying a dongle, tethering it to a laptop, and signing up for an account to see the data. Fieldwatch drops all of that: it just listens on your phone to nearby Wi-Fi access points and Bluetooth LE advertisements, transmits nothing, needs no extra hardware, no account and no backend server, and works offline.
Its standout piece is a built-in signature library: access control, cameras, drones, finder tags, smart glasses, home IoT and routers are recognized and grouped by class instead of showing as a wall of MAC addresses. When you want to find one device there is a hunt mode that shifts from "far" to "very close" live, with optional beeps or vibration. Privacy mode masks the last three octets of every MAC, so a screenshot you share does not leak full addresses. It needs Android 10 or later, is MIT licensed, and the APK sits in the repo's dist folder for sideloading.
Passive scanning:Receive-only, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE together, with a signal-strength trace and first and last seen time for every device.
Signature matching:Over two hundred signatures grouped into access control, cameras, drones, finder tags and more, and you can pull candidates from unmatched radios to create your own.
Filtering engine:Narrow by class, signal strength or radio type so you are not scrolling through hundreds of devices.
Hunt mode:Lock onto one device and follow distance hints, with a beep or vibration, until you reach it.
Sits and comparison:Save a stretch of scanning as a sit, replay the path, compare two sits, and spot devices that keep showing up alongside you.
Exports:Logs as CSV or JSON, plus GPX, KML and WiGLE CSV.
Privacy mode:Masks the last three MAC octets and GPS coordinates so shared screens stay safe.
