SmarterStats brings log analysis back onto your own server: install it, open the web admin, add a site, and it turns IIS and other access logs into traffic reports you can actually read.
Setup is a guided wizard: create the admin account, pick a storage folder, set the time zone and SMTP, and you land in three tabs, Sites, Reports and Settings. Existing IIS sites can be imported instead of typed in one by one. The reports are where it pays off, with trend charts tied to detail tables: view visits and new visitors by day, hover a point for the exact numbers, change the date range, grouping and sort on the spot, then email, export or print the result. It also has SEO tools for keywords, competitors and the search engines to track. Note that this is the full server installer, so the download is large.
