NSClient++

NSClient++

Windows monitoring agent for Nagios

Description

Watching a fleet of Windows servers with Nagios or Icinga, the hard part is how the monitoring side gets each machine CPU, memory, disk and service status. NSClient++ is the agent you install on the monitored host: it exposes the machine metrics for the monitoring system to pull on demand, with common checks for CPU, memory, disk, services, processes, Windows event log and performance counters built in.

It speaks NRPE, NSCA, check_nt and REST/HTTP, plugging into Nagios, Icinga, Naemon and other platforms, and it runs external scripts and plugins for custom checks. Open source and lightweight, it is a long-standing choice for monitoring the Windows side.
