FET

FET

Automatic timetable generator

Description

School scheduling is grueling: dozens of teachers, hundreds of classes, plus rooms and venues that must not clash, and a hand-made version drives you mad with revisions. FET hands this to an algorithm: enter teachers, classes, rooms and constraints, and it computes a full, clash-free timetable, and if one version is not ideal, change the constraints and run again.

It supports hundreds of constraints, like a teacher not teaching a given period, back-to-back sessions, venue limits and class gaps, to match real needs. It generates timetable views by class, by teacher and by room, exportable to HTML and CSV for publishing or printing. AGPL open source and free, for schools and universities alike.
