Description
Load a shelf of epubs collected from everywhere and the reader shows it plainly: half the authors are "Jane Doe" and half are "Doe, Jane", the publisher field is blank, series order is a mess and the cover is a placeholder. Fixing it normally means installing all of Calibre, or unzipping the epub, hand-editing the OPF and zipping it back. This tool opens the epub, edits it and writes it back, from an unpacked folder under 400 KB.
The window lays the EPUB metadata fields out as they are: title and its file-as sort name, several creators each with a role, series and index, description, publisher, publication date, subject, type, format and identifier, with the cover shown beside them. You fill in what is wrong without ever seeing an OPF file.
The whole field set: title, file-as sort name, creators and their roles (author, translator, editor), series and series index, description, publisher, date, subject, type, format and identifier — everything the EPUB metadata carries.
Batch operations: select a stack of books and copy title to sort name, copy creator to creator sort name, swap the two, set a field across all of them, or run a find and replace — one pass instead of one book at a time.
Rename files from metadata: after fixing the fields, rename the file to match the new title and author, so the library folder stops being a pile of download_1.epub.
Built-in viewing: inspect the EPUB content and table of contents to confirm the change landed where you meant, or hand off to an external reader you nominate.
Portable: the archive holds three executables — full GUI, compact GUI and a console version — and deleting the folder is the whole uninstall, so it travels on a USB stick.
