
Description
A new package is about to ship and nobody actually knows the answers: how big should the case be, how do the cases stack on a pallet, how many pallets fit in the truck. Numbers guessed in a spreadsheet tend to fail at the warehouse — over the height limit, or a layer short. StackBuilder hands it to a solver: enter the case and pallet dimensions and it enumerates every workable arrangement with its space efficiency, pallet weight and total height, each rotatable in 2D and 3D.
Its object model goes well past boxes-on-a-pallet: cases, sleeves, bundles, cylinders and interlayers each carry their own parameters — dimensions, wall thickness, flats per bundle, cylinder radius — and pallets follow the UK, GMA and EPAL standards. Beyond pallets it also solves case design (how identical items pack most efficiently inside one outer box) and truck or container loading. Every solved analysis is saved into a database so the same packaging comes back without recomputing.
Enumerated and ranked solutions: every viable arrangement for a case and pallet, sorted by efficiency, listed with layer count, case count, pallet weight and height — so the one that hits the height limit is obvious at a glance.
2D and 3D preview: rotate any solution in three dimensions or drop to a flat layer diagram, which is far easier to hand to a warehouse than a description.
More than boxes: cases, sleeves, bundles, upright cylinders and interlayers are all definable with their own dimensions and weights.
Pallet standards built in: UK, GMA and EPAL pallet types are included, with custom dimensions available.
Case dimension solving: given a set of identical items, it works backwards to the most space-efficient outer case — useful while the packaging is still being designed.
Truck and container loading: define the interior dimensions and it generates the pallet layout inside the vehicle.
