Two thousand frames off the card and you just want to cull them first — but Lightroom spends five minutes building a catalogue and rendering previews before showing the first one. cPicture skips all of that: it reads the folder directly, with no database, no import step and no cache directory. Open it and the thumbnails are there; delete what you don't want, convert what you do, then delete the single executable and nothing is left behind.

Direct folder browsing: a folder tree on the left and a thumbnail strip on the right, with the selected image shown large below. No importing — switch drives or directories and it just reads them.
Lossless JPEG operations: rotate, crop and mirror happen in the JPEG DCT domain without decoding or recompressing, so quality holds no matter how many times you edit. The same lossless approach extends to negate, brightness and contrast.
EXIF and JPEG structure inspection: capture settings, colour space, quantisation quality and file size in the info panel, plus a view into the JPEG's internal segments and embedded preview images, where individual entries can be saved, added or removed.
Batch processing: rename, resize, convert and rewrite EXIF across a whole selection in one pass, with gamma-correct resizing that keeps downscaled images from going flat.
Search and GPS: find pictures by file name and metadata with combined criteria and regular expressions, and locate GPS-tagged photos on a map view.
